Tribal Museum, Silvassa: The U.T., of Dadra and Nagar Haveli is predominantly inhabited by the tribals. The museum has displayed their ornaments, musical instruments, fishing and hunting gadgets, agricultural and house hold articles, and several other artefacts. The tribals way of life is displayed through life size models, wedding dresses and photographs of eventful ceremonies. The museum is popular with the tourists as it offers the glimpse of the native tribals and their culture at one place.
Yatri Niwas, Silvassa: A budget tourist accommodation with multi purpose facilities at Silvassa is being provided with 40 bedded accommodation to begin with.
In addition to the above major tourist attractions, there are several other places of tourist importance like Vandhara Garden, Historic church, Madhuban dam all around Silvassa to fill in the gaps of tourists itinerary.
Besides all this tourist places, Tourism Department also celebrate various festivals during the year.
Vanvihar Tourist Complex, Chauda: Since there was no accommodation available for the people, the department has created 36 bedded luxury and Economic class Accommodation at Chauda (20 Kms. From Silvassa ) The surrounding area has been landscaped and tourists throng in thousands to see and enjoy the location apart from the tourists staying in the complex. The Department has built a small check dam on the adjoining river Sakartod to operate boating facilities.
Silvassa Vasona Lion Safari : One of the main attractions of Silvassa, the lion safari lies 10 km away from Silvassa and is spread over 20 hectares, a continuous north-south core area of Dadra Nagar and Haveli Wildlife sanctuary.
Tarpa Festival: It is now celebration time in the U.T. of Dadra & Nagar Haveli. TARPA FESTIVAL is in the corner and this year the festival is being celebrated from 26th December to 29th December,2010. The U.T. of Dadra and Nagar Haveli is inhabited by Tribals who are endowed with rich cultural heritage and the tourists love to watch their colorful folkdances, rituals and the way of living. Such tribal culture is celebrated every year and is called as the 'Tarpa Festival'.
The Tribal dance cannot be seen every day in villages as all dances are performed during festivals and special occasion like marriages, harvesting, etc. This festival provides a glimpse to the visitor to see such folk dances and tribal culture at one place. The festival is organized during the Christmas vacation and it is peak season for the tourists which become an added attraction to the visitors.
During the period of the festival the Tourism Department also organizes several competitions such as Talent Search Competition, Varli Painting Competition,
Boat Race & Varli Painting Competition, Boat Race & Swimming Competition, Flower Decoration Competition, etc. and the festival is closed with a grand cultural evening with orchestra group & fireworks.
September is very attractive with celebrations of Ganesh Chathurdhi.
Feb.-March is extremely colorful with the festivities and show of Holi.
